Ole-Gunnar Solskjaer, Manchester United’s head coach compared Cristiano Ronaldo to the influence of halfback Bruno Fernandes on the team’s performance.
“Bruno has the same influence [as Ronaldo]. He influences the team partners,” he told Sky Sport.
“Just look at the results we achieve after his transfer. Bruno has a lot of energy, he has leadership qualities, he is a team player, which has been a key factor in our progress. Some players will have to sit back and rest.”
“I can’t say that I was looking forward to telling Bruno that he would miss a match with RB Leipzig, but there was no problem at all. The same goes for Rashford, to be honest. They know that this season will be difficult. This is how we build the culture of this team – everything is for the team, not for individuals.”
“I think Bruno is proving this over and over again. What’s more important to him is the team, not him.”
Fernandes has scored 34 goals for United in 35 games since joining the club. He joined MU in January 2020.
