Arsenal is reportedly looking to part ways with defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos during the summer transfer window.
Since transferring to the Emirates Stadium in July 2018, Sokratis has scored six goals from his 68 games in all competitions.
Nevertheless, in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup in Arsenal’s 2-1 win away at Sheffield United, the 32-year-old made the only appearance since the resumption.
According to football.london, Mikel Arteta has now told Greece international that he does not feature in its long-term plans.
The center-back has a year left at the North London outfit on his deal and he is reportedly keen to fight for his place at the Gunners amid the rise, a position that could complicate Arsenal’s ambitions in the transfer market.
