The signing of Liverpool striker Rhian Brewster has been completed by Sheffield United in a club-record £23.5 m deal.
The 20-year-old spent five seasons with Liverpool.
Through the club’s academy, he grew to become a member of the senior squad.
Brewster has now quit in an attempt to gain more minutes at the Premier League stage after he made only four Liverpool appearances.
Sources also told Goal that Liverpool will earn an initial fee of about £ 18 million with the rest expected in add-ons relating to results. A 15% sell-on clause, as well as a buy-back option that will be in effect for the next three years, has also been secured by the Reds.
Brewster told Sheffield United’s official website: “It feels good to be here. Honestly, I just can’t wait to start.”
“There were a few teams that came in, but Sheffield United is the perfect choice for me right now. Looking at the club, it’s on the rise, placing ninth last year, and hopefully, this season will be great.”
