Serie A recap: Milan beat Venice, Empoli win while a draw for Verona

AC Milan reached the top of the table of the city rival Inter as they beat Venice 2-0 at San Siro in the match of the fifth round of the Italian football championship. Milan struggled to register a victory in the game but both goals were scored by the “Rossoneri” in the second part of the match. 

Brahim Diaz and Hernandez were the scorers as they hit the ball in the 68th minute and 82nd minute respectively. Milan defeated battling Venezia at San Siro, with Theo Hernandez setting up the first goal and scoring his own. Watch football highlights to know how Milan beat Venice.

With the identical result, Empoli defeated Cagliari on the road, which is still without a victory. Federico di Francesco took the lead scoring the opening goal just before the half-hour mark in the 29th minute. Leo Štulac doubled the lead in the 69th minute securing a victory for Empoli over Cagliari in the fifth round of Serie A.

In the earlier match, Verona played a 2-2 draw away against Salernitana, and both goals for Igor Tudor’s team were scored by former Croatian national team player Nikola Kalinic. Meanwhile, Juventus achieved the first victory of the season beating Spezia by a 2-3 match score. Moise Kean, Federico Chiesa and Matthijs de Ligt were the goal scorers for the Bianconeri. 

Inter and Milan are leading with 13 points each, while Napoli is in third place with 12 points and the match is less. Atalanta is fourth with 10 points, while Juventus jumped to 13th place with five points after the first victory. At the bottom are Cagliari (2) and Salernitana (1).
