Barcelona’s new joinie Sergio Aguero is attempting to extend his football career. Allegedly he is undergoing knee treatment to achieve his goal. The 33-year-old has undergone stem cell treatment with the aim of regenerating cartilage and allowing the Argentine to play for longer periods of time, According to Cadena SER.
This treatment is implemented by the Institute of Regenerative Tissue Therapy only and as per the source, it is an experimental approach that has shown its possibility to regenerate cartilage for the first time through clinical trials.
The latest football news reports state that Dr. Robert Soler at the Institute for Tissue Regenerative Therapy performed the procedure, which was planned prior to the striker’s move to Barcelona.
Pau Gasol, Rafa Nadal, Carles Puyol, Martin Odegaard, and Érik Lamela are among the athletes who have received this type of treatment.
