Juventus coach Maurizio Sarri indicated he might send out an Under-23 squad to protest what he called a “huge” scheduling problem, in his side’s final Serie A match of the 2019-20 season.
“Conceding 40 goals this season may be a concern but it wasn’t the game tonight,” he told reporters after Wednesday’s final whistle.
“We had injured players and we came out 68 hours ago from a title victory and it was a typical game that can be taken for what it is.”
“We need to get more solid. But we are the only ones in Europe to have played five games in twelve days, the league created enormous difficulties for us.”
“Let’s see how we will be tomorrow and if using the Under-23s against Roma on Saturday is appropriate to make the best recovery.”
