Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo echoed Chelsea boss Frank Lampard’s request that ahead of the new season the Premier League should give an extended break to clubs in European tournaments to preserve players’ safety.
“I’m hopeful that the Premier League will look at that and enable a bit more time for the teams involved,” the Wolves boss said on Wednesday to British media. “Next season we have a strict schedule and they have to be aware of the player’s health.”
“I’m sure they’ll look at it and make the schedule adjustable. Of course, no team is going to be able to allow the players too much time to recover.”
