Sky Sports’ Keith Downie wrote on Twitter, Scotland’s international winger Ryan Fraser has agreed to join Newcastle United and only a medical deal is pending which is scheduled to take place today.
To have a face-to-face conversation with Toon’s boss, Steve Bruce, the former Bournemouth star was in Newcastle on Friday, and is now set to move to St. James’ Park alongside his former teammate, Callum Wilson.
Fraser refused to make a short-term deal to extend his stay and left Cherries before the restart of the Premier League action last season.
He hasn’t played since, and he’s going to be a long way away from fitness, so in their Premier League opening this weekend he’s not likely to compete against West Ham United.
Fraser could officially become a Magpies player by mid-week.
In 28 league games last season the Scottish forward scored once and assisted four others, but his return of seven goals and 14 assists in 38 games in 2018-19 continues to remind everyone of his quality and Bruce hopes he can recreate that in 2020-21 and move forward.
