Striker Lionel Messi appreciated by Barcelona head coach Ronald Koeman for his double and assist in yesterday’s 4-1 La Liga 27th round game against Huesca.
“I think Messi showed that he is the best. The first goal was unbelievable. He deserves the important role in this team that he gets,” the coach told Marca.
“You can’t say more than that. Messi has shown this level for many years, he has shown it in many matches. He is the most important man in Barca’s history. It’s lucky he’s still with us.”
For the Catalan club, the Argentine played his 767th match yesterday and equaled Xavi’s record for the most games played for the club.
The 33-year-old has played 25 games scoring 21 goals and providing seven assists in La Liga this season.
