“Racism still remains in Europe,” admitted Inter striker Romelu Lukaku but believes that Italy is the greatest country in which he has ever played.
The former United star told Gazzetta Dello Sport: “All over Europe, it still exists. And it’s nonsensical. It happened to me once in Italy. I reacted, but it never happened again.”
“I don’t want to associate three or 300 people who whistle with thousands of people. I’m sure the absurdity of racism is in the past.”
Lukaku continued on how much he loves life in Italy: “It’s the best country I’ve ever been to. With open arms, the Italians welcomed me and I’m thankful to everybody.”
“The football has helped me improve a lot. I want to develop and do more and more for the team.”
