Rome Italy’s club Roma held Atlanta FC to a 1–1 draw in a match played in the Serie A league here, forcing them to score points. As reported by Xinhua, Atlanta took a 1-0 lead in the 26th minute in the match played Thursday night, thanks to a goal by Ruslan Malinovsky.
While Lorenzo Pellegrini’s shot was charged down by Berat Djimsiti, leaving Pierluigi Gollini stranded, Pau Lopez’s gloves were stung by Ruslan Malinovskyi at the close post.
Duvan Zapata did a good job controlling and turning on the outside of the box, extending the action for Robin Gosens, whose low ball to the near post was faced by Malinovskyi, who fired into the roof of the net from six yards, expecting two defenders. He’s been on a roll recently, with three goals and five assists in the last five games.
Despite losing Riccardo Calafiori to injury, Atalanta managed to dominate and waste opportunities, including a Gosens shot that was deflected wide and Cristian Romero shooting poorly from 14 yards.
