Roberto Mancini, Italy’s head coach shared his views on the team’s performance.
“When we first started our joint work, there was an atmosphere of sadness and disappointment in the team’s failure to fall for the 2018 World Cup. We decided to make changes, focus on young players with good technical background, try to play differently than before,” Mancini said at the Social Football Summit event.
“In a short time, our team has regained its strength. The guys incredibly fell in love with their fans again and proved to themselves that they are a strong team.”
“It’s a pity we didn’t play for the Euro this year because we felt we were ready for it. But we have new young players who are interesting and they can be an important part of the Italian national team in the future.”
