Last week the prolific Bayern Munich striker was named The Best FIFA Men’s Player for 2020, thanks to his sensational form over the past year for treble-winning Bayern.
In terms of durability, Robert Lewandowski claims he can never be compared to Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, but joked that he is now the one sitting on the top table of football.
Last week, Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski was recognized as the best player in the world, securing him a spot at the top of the football table.
But Lewandowski believes that, on the basis of his goalscoring statistics in recent years, he should now be considered in the same discussion as two of the game’s all-time greats.
“Messi and Ronaldo have been sitting at the same table, at the top, for a very long time, and that’s what makes them incomparable,” he told France Football.
“So to answer your question, I can’t imagine myself next to them in this point of view.
“That said, if you take the numbers for this year and even previous ones, I think I’m pretty good in terms of performance and goals scored.”
“Failing to be at the same table as Messi and Ronaldo, I think I can invite them to eat at mine!”
