On Monday evening, Daniele De Santis, Series B, and C referee was killed in his apartment along with his wife.
In his apartment in Lecce the 33-year-old and his girlfriend, 30-year-old Eleonora Manta were found stabbed to death, according to La Repubblica.
Their yelling alerted the neighbors, then a man was seen running from the scene with a knife.
De Santis had officiated 130 competitive matches during his career and was mainly a Serie C official.
As the fourth Pisa-Benevento official he made his Serie B debut in 2017.
