RB Leipzig secured a five-year contract of Lazar Samardzic from Hertha Berlin, Germany U19 at the Red Bull Arena.
Samardzic posted impressive numbers at the youth level and was in high demand since.
Leipzig is thrilled to have the 18-year-old who scored 14 goals and helped nine more for Hertha’s U19s last season.
“Lazar Samardzic is one of the greatest German talents,” said sports director Markus Krösche, brings Bundesliga.com. “Although he attracted international interest, we managed to convince him of his path at RB Leipzig. We trust Lazar to take the next step with us.”
Samardzic is able to compete for his new club as soon as Saturday, with Leipzig starting its DFB Cup campaign in Nuremberg.
Previously he won the Bronze Award of the Fritz Walter Medal at the U17 level in 2019.
