PSG win last quadruple in French football defeating Lyon on penalties

To secure the last Coupe de la Ligue trophy, PSG trashed Lyon on penalties, and in French football history, the club has clinched the final domestic quadruple.

After a goalless stalemate in normal and extra time, leaving Pablo Sarabia to clinch a shootout win, the final had to be decided by a shootout, which saw Lyon’s Bertrand Traore miss following 10 perfect penalties.

In 1994 the Coupe de la Ligue was introduced and it will be retired now, due to the reduction of public interest.

To win a domestic quadruple in French football will no longer be possible.

PSG have already lifted this season’s Super Cup, French Cup, and Ligue 1 title.
