PSG forward Neymar injured during Ligue 1 encounter with Lyon

In the 14th round of the French League, PSG forward Neymar escaped a serious injury in their Ligue 1 encounter with Lyon (0-1).

The Brazilian will undergo an MRI scan, which will reveal the extent of the sprain.

According to Le Parisien, an initial examination revealed no fractures.

Lyon midfielder Tiago Mendes slid under Neymar, trapping his leg between his own. Referee gave him a yellow card for that foul.

With the player crying as he lay on the turf, Neymar couldn’t continue the game because of an ankle injury. The referee called for the assistance of the VAR and changed his decision by suspending Mendes.

Neymar was carried off on a stretcher as he was unable to leave the pitch himself.
