Since March 12 Portugal’s top flight was suspended because of a coronavirus pandemic. Primeira Liga will return to play on June 4 confirmed by the League.
The League declared that it will resume playing on later dates. However, last month’s country’s prime minister, Antonio Costa agreed for the league to resume behind closed doors from May 30.
Liga Portugal gave a statement mentioning the 25th round of fixtures will be conducted from June 4.
It says: “Different entities have conducted successive alignment meetings over the past few days so that the recovery can take place safely and with all the protection measures that mitigate the risks of returning to the activity.”
“To ensure that the stadiums are strictly inspected and that medical tests are carried out on all professionals involved in the games and their organization, the date for the first game of the 25th round of the Liga NOS is scheduled for June 4, 2020.”
After Portugal, Spain’s La Liga is aiming to return from its suspension on June 12.
