Mike Dean, the football referee will not work for the 24th round matches in the EPL.
The EPL executives were asked by the referee not to appoint him for the next round of league games since he received death threats and insults on social media.
The referee’s family members were also insulted and threatened, writes Sky Sports.
The 52-year-old referee showed controversial red cards, which were subsequently canceled out in Manchester United v Southampton (0-9) and Fulham v West Ham (0-0).
After the match against Southampton FC, Southampton has asked the Premier League not to appoint Dean to the team’s matches ever again.
Dean will work for the FA Cup match between Leicester and Brighton on Wednesday. He could return to work on the EPL matches in a tour.
