English Premier League (EPL) team Crystal Palace demanded the postponement of the match against Tottenham Hotspur after some players and their manager Patrick Vieira were infected with the coronavirus. However, it was rejected by the officials of England’s top domestic football tournament. Crystal Palace informed on social media that its coach Patrick has isolated himself after coming to the test positive.
The Palace team has not given information about the number of players who have become Covid-19 positive. Organizers of the English Premier League (EPL) believe that the north London based team Crystal Palace has enough players to take the field for the football match. However, Vieira will not be present during this match, who has gone into isolation after being tested positive for Covid-19.
Three matches to be played on Sunday were also postponed due to cases related to Covid-19. In the last two weeks, 13 matches have been postponed due to cases related to Covid-19. Crystal Palace said that assistant coach Osian Roberts would take his responsibility in place of Patrick.
However, the Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur match took place and it ended on 3-0. Harry Kane, Lucas Moura, and Son Heung-min scored the goals for the Spur while Palace players struggled to score a single goal against the rival London team.
