Miralem Pjanic claims Juventus in the Champions League will ‘do even better’ and acknowledges that Lyon ‘really ought to have been within our reach’.
“It’s really frustrating for us because we just wanted to move to the next level and start this race,” Pjanic said to Sky Sport Italia.
“With that penalty, it was a poor start but we remained in the game and kept going all the way. It’s very frustrating and definitely hard to accept.”
“We don’t have to minimize the accomplishment of winning the ninth Scudetto, but this club should and will target a lot more. I have no illusions that next season this team will restart much better because I know the mindset and power of the team well.”
“Our first leg result wasn’t strong enough and those ties are determined in the Champions League over two legs. We went out to a side of Lyon that should always have been within our reach.”
In the Juventus jersey, this was Pjanic’s final game, as he heads for Barcelona in exchange for Arthur Melo.
