Juventus beat Novara 5-0 in a friendly match and coach Andrea Pirlo was pleased but sent a message to the club’s management that he needed a top striker as soon as possible.
“I am satisfied because it is our first game this season. I only got all the players on Thursday and we only had two days to prepare. That is why I am satisfied,” Pirlo told for Italian Sky Sports.
Juve played against Novara in several formations, starting with four in defense, to later move to three in the back row. Also, at half the time Pirlo replaced the strongest lineup and rotated a lot in attack.
”We’re trying different solutions. In the first half, we tried with four players in defense, to move to three, while in the second half we were left with three fixed players behind and three in front. We’re looking for solutions and I’m trying to find out what I can get from the players I have at my disposal. We still have a week to prepare for the first round against Sampdoria ”, said Pirlo and added that he is looking for a top striker from the club’s management.
“Yes, I need a striker as soon as possible, but there is time, the market will not close until October 4,” concluded Pirlo.
