Pirelli step forward to help Inter signing Messi

To sign the Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi, the sponsor of the Inter jersey might “help” Nerazzurri, but this will be impossible without the efforts of the club president Steven Zhang, stated Pirelli chief executive Marco Tronchetti.

However, Tronchetti forewarned that Pirelli’s capacity would be affected to participate due to the coronavirus outbreak, as did Italian car manufacturer Fiat when it helped Cristiano Ronaldo move from Real Madrid to Juventus in 2018.

“Honestly, at a time like this, between Formula 1, America’s Cup and Inter, we can’t invest more in sports than we are,” Tronchetti told Gr Parlamento (via Football Italia).

“We have to ask Steven Zhang himself to make an effort. We can help but we can’t do anything meaningful.”
