Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola has admitted that it was his dream to work in England since he was in charge of Barcelona and Bayern.
“Looking back on the five years I spent at Manchester City, I feel so good. I feel very good now. I felt the same way last season, even though we didn’t win any trophies. I feel good, I have friends, I feel protected, I feel loved by the fans, the team follows my ideas, I enjoy working with these players,” Guardiola told Rio Ferdinand.
“I have an incredible environment to work in. I hate November, December, January, February in England because I would like to see better weather (laughs). But I have everything. Everything to do my job. That’s why I renewed my contract with Man City. That’s the only reason.”
“I am not saying that I was bad at Bayern or Barcelona, but I always dreamed, when I worked with those clubs, to be in England. I wanted to work in the land of Shakespeare, The Beatles and Oasis. England is not only football, but also cinema and theatre. A special country.”
