After winning the fifth spot, Paulo Fonseca switches his attention to the Europa League and states that he ‘prefers the other tactical scheme,’ but adapts to his Roma team.
“The squad seems much more confident and safe, we’ve produced multiple chances this evening to add more goals,” the coach told Sky Sport Italia.
Fonseca knows this is not his favorite choice while Roma has been improved after switching to a three-man defense.
“I favor the other tactical method, to be frank, but the team offered a much stronger response to the 3-4-2-1, so that’s what we’re going for. We already attempted it against Atalanta in our first game so it wasn’t completely new.”
“All our fans are telling us they want to win the trophy, we want it too, but understanding it’s not going to be easy. Sevilla had won the Europa League five times and then we ought to think about them and then we’ll see what’s going on.”
