Patrice Evra, a former Manchester United player annotates his recent words about team midfielder Donny van de Beek.
Previously, the Frenchman said: “Manchester United doesn’t need Van de Beek. Why did we buy him?”
Today, he posted on his Instagram: “My dear United fans, I recently commented on Sky and said that we do not need Donnie van de Beek. People should understand that on television you need to express the very essence. There’s no time to explain why.”
“Some tried to insult my knowledge of football, or they were born after iPhone X came out, and do not know what a real conversation is. No filters. ”
“I said we didn’t need him. . . I’ll give you some examples. Fred, Scott McTominay, Nemanja Matic. You love or hate them, but in big matches, when strength, compactness, and a lot of running work are required, they do. That’s my opinion. Is Donny van de Beek better than Paul Pogba? No. This is a different player, but no. Bruno Fernandes? Not either.”
“I want him to play for Manchester United like for Ajax. But there’s one problem. How many times did he come out in the starting lineup of United this season? That’s why I said we didn’t need him. His purchase was not necessary.”
“But, of course, we need the depth of the composition. We fight for a lot of trophies, so we need players on the bench. I’m not very happy, I feel sorry for the guy. When you sign a contract, and 40 million pounds are paid for you, you expect to play more often. Hope he’ll get a chance.”
“Van de Beek will prove to us that he deserves to play for Manchester United. So don’t distort my words when I say Donnie’s transfer wasn’t urgent. I would never show disrespect for him.”
