Paris Saint-Germain have confirmed Sergio Ramos has suffered another injury.
While also providing updates on the fitness of Neymar and Lionel Messi.
Paris Saint-Germain will meet Nice in the final 16 of the Coupe de France on Monday.
But they will be without Ramos, who has suffered another setback.
A club statement read:
“Sergio Ramos has to rest for a low-grade muscle injury in his right calf that occurred on Thursday during training and will be reassessed in the middle of the week.”
Ramos has barely featured for PSG since arriving at the club on a free transfer at the beginning of the season, thanks to a string of injuries.
With the Spaniard playing the entire 90 minutes in his side’s 4-0 triumph over Stade Reims last Saturday, there had been hoped that he had turned the corner.
However, he is once again not available for selection on Monday night.
While the knock also casts doubt over his availability for PSG’s Champions League meeting with Real Madrid in February.
The club also issued updates on Neymar and Georginio Wijnaldum, both recovering from injuries.
“Neymar Jr, who is recovering from a left ankle sprain with ligament damage,
“He has completed the first cycle of running and will undergo tests on Monday to confirm the rest of his schedule.
“Georginio Wijnaldum, who is recovering from a left ankle sprain with partial damage to the medial collateral ligament.
“He is continuing his programme intending to return to the squad at the end of the week.”
In better news for Les Parisiens, Messi will start from the outset against Nice.
As confirmed by Mauricio Pochettino at his pre-match press conference:
“He trained well this week after having been absent due to COVID.
“He played 30 minutes last week, and I believe he’ll be ready to start against Nice on Monday.”
