World Cup conqueror Kevin Grosskreutz has resigned from football aged 32. One of Germany’s 2014 World Cup-winning crew has retired.

The former Borussia Dortmund player strived to keep his career moving after he left the Bundesliga giant. A useless move to Turkey was followed by a return to Germany where he never really relieved, with his career fizzling out.

His biggest days arrived at Dortmund, where he twice won the Bundesliga and made 176 impressions. During that time he also played for Germany and was a member of the 2014 World Cup squad that won it all in Brazil.
