Neymar scored a hat-trick to lead Brazil to a hard-fought 4-2 victory over Peru in World Cup qualifying on Tuesday.
The forward shone in Lima as Brazil came from behind twice to begin their campaign with six points from two games.
Into the outright second, bringing his total to 64, behind only Pele (77), Neymar pushed past Ronaldo on the all-time goalscoring list of Brazil.
Neymar was once again the star for Brazil. Alongside his hat-trick, he was also interested in Brazil’s other goal, as his corner contributed to Richarlison’s attempt.
Neymar seems likely to overtake the all-time great on the goalscoring list of Brazil, aged 28 and within 13 goals of Pele.
