At the Coupe de France, Paris Saint-Germain will play against Saint-Etienne in Friday’s final and Thomas Tuchel expects Neymar to play a major part.
Thomas Tuchel is not surprised by Neymar’s results after Paris Saint-Germain returned to play.
In the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, Neymar returned to Brazil and quickly found impressive form ahead of PSG’s 2019-20 campaign conclusion.
The 28-year-old scored four goals in three friendly wins over Le Havre, Waasland-Beveren, and Celtic, respectively 9-0, 7-0, and 4-0.
PSG is expected to retain the Coupe de France against Saint-Etienne on Friday’s rescheduled final, which was canceled in April when PSG was awarded the Ligue 1 title.
Asked about Neymar’s form in his pre-match news conference (via PSG Talk), Tuchel said: “I’m not surprised. He came back in a good state of mind, in good shape.”
“He adapts super quickly to all training sessions, he gained in capacity very quickly. It’s important for him to play as much as possible. He was given as many minutes of playing time as possible.”
“He will be on the pitch tomorrow. He’s in good shape, decisive, and that’s the best thing for us.”
