The Netherlands defeated Gibraltar on a 6-0 match score to keep their World Cup qualifying lead over Norway at two points in which Memphis Depay scored goals twice. Depay responded to Bradley Banda saving his penalty by finishing off a wonderful team play and scored a second penalty as the Oranje went into half-time with a dominating advantage.
The Netherlands maintained their grip on World Cup qualifying Group G With a 6-0 win over Gibraltar. Memphis Depay scored twice and had a penalty saved. Denzel Dumfries quickly added to the lead in the second half, before Arnaut Danjuma and Donny Malen finished the scoring to condemn Gibraltar to their eighth defeat in a row.
The Netherlands can ill afford to make a mistake, with Norway two points behind them, but that was never going to happen here as Van Dijk scored just nine minutes, easily beating his marker and heading in Depay’s corner at the near post.
