Napoli to fire Gattuso if Atalanta and Juventus results are not satisfactory

This month, Napoli could sack Gennaro Gattuso as head coach, claims SportMediaset.

Based on the results of matches against Atalanta (in the Italian Cup) and Juventus (in Serie A), the 43-year-old’s future will be decided by the club president Aurelio De Laurentiis.

Rafael Benitez or Walter Mazzarri, who has already worked for the club, could be brought in to replace Gattuso, who is likely to be sent off if the results are unsatisfactory.

It was previously reported that De Laurentiis and Gattuso’s relationship had soured. The Neapolitan president would like to see Benitez as the team’s coach.

On February 10 the Italian Cup semi-final first leg at Atalanta will be played, with Napoli and Juventus clashing on February 13.
