Mourinho: Tottenham couldn’t have signed Messi respecting FFP

Jose Mourinho said that they “respect Financial Fair Play” thus could not sign Lionel Messi and the Tottenham manager took a subtle swipe at Manchester City.

Asked if he would sign the Barca star player, the 57-year-old told JOE: “For my Top Eleven team? No, not for Tottenham. Only for Top Eleven.”

“At Tottenham, we respect Financial Fair Play. He can only go to a team that does not value Financial Fair Play, but for sure it is not Tottenham.”
