Mourinho on Tottenham financial conditions: our situation is different than other clubs, they do a crazy market

Ahead of the 10th round of the EPL match against Chelsea, Tottenham’s head coach Jose Mourinho spoke about the club’s financial possibilities.

“We do not have the same conditions as some clubs. They do a crazy market. We have to spend wisely, and we did it. We have improved the potential of our team,” said Mourinho to Sky Sports.

“If the potential is growing, so are the expectations. But we are not focusing on the table. We look at it when the season is over.”

“I hope that fans look at us as a work in progress. Others usually take years to achieve something. I don’t think it’s fair that expectations from us exceed real opportunities.” 

Tottenham spent £160 million less than Chelsea on the summer transfer window.
