Arsenal under the direction of coach Mikel Arteta thrashed Slavia in the Europa League quarter-final second leg. The team was sent to the semi-finals with four goals, three of which were scored in just six minutes. Arsenal scored 4-0 beating Slavia in the second leg, both the teams had experienced a draw (1-1) in the first leg. Following the match Mikel Arteta praised players for their brilliant performance, “the lads were at their best”
Arteta gave his review on the battle against Slavia during a press conference held after the match.
“We got off to a very convincing start, we were aggressive under high pressure. We always looked for an opportunity to create a threat. I was very pleased with Arsenal’s reaction to the canceled first goal,” Arteta told BT Sport as per BBC.
“We scored some great goals. It was also important not to concede, which we did for the second match in a row.”
Mikel Arteta praised players: “The way we played Sheffield Wednesday (3-0) helped. The players were very confident. When we play at such a high level, the team gets better. The lads were at their best from the start.”
“It’s a very important win at a crucial moment. We won in a convincing manner and we have the players to thank.”
“We still have a lot to do, there are things we can get better at and have the desire to progress, to get better every day.”
“It will be difficult for us and Unai Emery is probably the most successful coach in the history of the tournament.”
The Gunners stunned their opponents with three goals inside the space of ten incredible first-half minutes. Slavia Prague saw one of their players, Ondrej Kudela, handed a 10-match ban by Uefa this week for ‘racist behavior’ towards Rangers Glen Kamara.
