Sinisa Mihajlovic became an honorary citizen of Bologna, and said it was a ‘source of great pride.’
The coach from Felsinei has a great chance to climb into the top half as they face Fiorentina and Torino in their last two games of this campaign and has helped Bologna sit 11th in Series A with two remaining games.
Rossoblu originally went through turbulent times and had to cope with months without their coach, and to him, it has been a tough season.
On July 11, Mihajlovic was diagnosed with leukemia and has been in and out of hospital after a bone marrow transplant followed by multiple chemotherapy courses.
The Serbian is already a Novi Sad honorary citizen and has been honored by the municipality.
Mihajlovic told the official website of the club: “Becoming a Bologna honorary citizen is a great source of pride.”
“This is the second citizenship I earn after Novi Sad, but it is a great privilege for me, Serbian, to become an Italian town resident.”
“Bologna is a community of excellence, a university city, and one of Italy’s most beautiful. I strive to set a good example at all times and respect the name of Bologna.”
