Until 30 June 2023 Bürki’s contract is extended for another two years. Earlier his contract was set to expire in 2021. After confidential talks, Borussia Dortmund and goalkeeper Roman Bürki have agreed to a premature extension of the contract.
“We are delighted that we will continue to have one of the most consistent goalkeepers in the Bundesliga between the sticks in Roman Bürki. That means we have secured an excellent player for an important long-term position. It speaks volumes for Roman that he has already kept 12 clean sheets this season,” sporting director Michael Zorc declared.
Roman Bürki has made 206 competitive appearances and maintained 75 clean sheets for BVB since he joined Dortmund from fellow Bundesliga outfit SC Freiburg in the summer of 2015 Swiss shot-stopper.
“I am very happy at Borussia Dortmund and feel the confidence placed in me by the management of the club, the coach, and my fellow players,” said the 29-year-old.
