“Messi still in Barca group chat,” says De Jong

Frenkie de Jong has confirmed that despite a recent request to leave the club, Lionel Messi is still in Barcelona’s WhatsApp group chat.

De Jong states that, as far as he is informed, Messi stays a member of the group, although he was not part of the start of the 2020-21 practice.

“I hope Messi is still there when I get back, but that’s not something that’s up to me. He’s still in the group chat,” he said to Fox Sports.

“I’m not someone to speak with him about it, I’m sure he’s got a lot of people around him doing that these days.”
