Fans go to the next level when it comes to portraying emotions for their favorite celebrity be it in any field. Similarly, sports fans also follow every minute of the game for their favorite club or favorite player. There are people who go beyond face painting or creating personalized tattoos of their favorite sports icons. We have come across a superfan who has filled 730 notebooks covering Lionel Messi’s goal career. It was a very kind gesture of Messi to surprise this 100-year-old fan with a video message.
Lionel Messi finally won the first major international trophy for Argentina as his national team defeated Brazil in Copa America final at the iconic Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro. According to a report, the Argentine star shared his success with a 100-year-old super-fan. Don Hernán is a Spanish grandfather who has gained popularity on TikTok in recent weeks.
What makes Hernan’s effort special is the fact that he has been following Messi since the beginning of his career. He recorded all the goals scored by Messi for his club and country with a pencil and paper. The super-fan filled around 730 notebooks covering his sports idol’s goal efforts.
After learning about this 100-year-old superfan, Messi surprised Hernan through a video message. A video shared by Diario Ole on Twitter shows the nephew showing a video of Messi to his grandfather. In the video, Messi said that his story (Don Hearn) reached him and it sounds crazy that you scored goals. Messi also mentioned that he gives a strong hug and thanked him for what he did. After watching Messi’s video, the clip ends with Hernan apparently laughing.

Meanwhile, Julian also shared Messi’s video on Instagram. Notably, Hernan doesn’t have a smartphone and doesn’t know how to access the Internet. But the short video went viral on the platform after his nephew Julian, posted a video of his grandfather on the social networking platform.
The delight for the Argentine star to win the Copa America title was very evident to the crowd at the venue and to the millions of fans around the world. In the middle of celebrating the win with his teammates, the 34-year-old made a video call on the ground to share the happy moments with his family.
