Mattias saved a win for Bologna over Hellas Verona

Thanks to Mattias Svanberg’s goal as Bologna could win three important points at home against Hellas Verona. In the final Serie A Week 3 match on Monday night Bologna hosted Hellas Verona, and it was a tense first half with only goals missing. Bologna win over Hellas Verona as Svanberg scored the only goal of the football match.

The ball ended up at Mattias Svanberg’s feet just outside the area in the 78th minute, giving the home side a chance. The Swede smashed it into the bottom corner, giving Sinisa Mihajlovic’s team the lead and, eventually, three points. The first half was a goalless draw as neither side was able to find the back of the net and in the second half, Bologna appeared to have the upper hand.

The desire was not lacking on either side, but the precision was lacking. The second half of the game was dominated by the home side, but Eusebio Di Francesco’s men did not give up hope of claiming a point in the third round. Svanberg gave the hosts lead in the 78th minute after Arnautovic did well to keep the ball inside the box and set up the 22-year-old Swede outside the area.

The missile in the bottom corner beat Montip in the Verona goal and gave Bologna the lead with 12 minutes remaining in the game. Verona tried to rally, and the final minutes at the Renato Dall’Ara were tense, but Bologna came close on two more occasions, one of which was when Arnautovic skied the ball from just outside the six-yard box.

After 96 minutes the match was called off due to stoppages and a brawl on the touchline started by Dominguez and Faraoni, and Bologna was awarded three points. Watch football highlights as Bologna win over Hellas Verona in the Serie A match.
