Mancini’s header helped Roma overcome Genoa

Roma defeated Genoa thanks to Gianluca Mancini’s header from a Lorenzo Pellegrini corner. Genoa was lacking some main players.

After turning between two defenders, Mattia Destro shot straight at Pau Lopez, but when Gianluca Mancini rose to turn in a bullet header from a Lorenzo Pellegrini corner Roma broke the deadlock.

Pedro’s back-heel flick from a Rick Karsdorp assist bounced off the far post on 73 minutes, and Borja Mayoral bundled the rebound over the line, but the offside flag was up for the ex-Chelsea man.

As Gianluca Scamacca sent a half-volley just wide and tried a back-heel flick on a free-kick a sequence of shots charged down, and Roma kept on under pressure in the final stages.
