In a Premier League match played between Manchester United and West Ham Solskjaer’s players had considerable problems breaking the wall of the team from London. Mason Greenwood found himself in a convenient situation.
The 19-year-old tried to surprise the Pole with a technical strike, but the Hammers’ goalkeeper managed to put the ball on the post.
In the second half, the hosts continued to press. Bruno Fernandes shot from a corner, Scott McTominay jumped highest, the ball was unluckily deflected by Craig Dawson, and fell into the net.
The Hammers had to go on the attack, which created space for United to counterattack. In the 60th minute, Manchester was close to another goal.
From outside the penalty area, Fernandes struck the ball, but the Portuguese’s shot was brilliantly defended by Fabianski. The Pole was covered but managed to instinctively deflect the ball.
With less than a quarter of an hour to go in regulation time Greenwood was again close to scoring. West Ham tried to equalize, but the hosts’ defense did not allow it.
The Red Devils regained their position of vice-leader. West Ham players also kept their place.
