As Manchester United struggled to triumph over Burnley, Paul Pogba fired the club from the Premier League table.
While Harry Maguire had a goal disallowed for the slightest contact with Erik Pieters, Luke Shaw was booked for an altercation in which Burnley required a red card, the first half was goalless but full of uncertainty
In the second half, United upped the tempo and Pogba continued to dominate the game before finally cracking the resolve of Burnley when, in the 71st minute, his volley from the box edge deflected past Nick Pope.
Burnley stay 16th in the table while United travel to Anfield to face second-placed Liverpool, who are three points behind the new league leaders, on Sunday.
