Manchester United wins the fifth Premier League game in a row as they beat Burnley 3:1 in Sunday’s match of the 32nd round. Mason Greenwood became the hero of the game scoring two goals for the hosts. Edison Cavani’s late strike helped United lead the scoreboard with 3-1 against Burnley. Manchester United smashed Burnley in Premier League’s Sunday meeting.
The first half was goalless, but in the second half, Greenwood made an opening for the visitors, hitting the net at 48 minutes. He also tried to score earlier but failed to take advantage of a good situation.
The second half began with a strong start as Rashford ran into the box, played the ball with Bruno Fernandes.
Following two minutes of the first goal scored by the visitors, Burnley scored their goal in the 50th minute when James Tarkowski hit the ball to the net and equalized. The 19-year-old won the aerial duel with Wan-Bissaka and Maguire, it was the 1,000th goal lost by Manchester United in their Premier League history.
Greenwood scored his second goal six minutes before the end of regulation time. That’s when a new historic strike was witnessed as the young striker joined Wayne Rooney in terms of goals scored for Manchester United in Premier League matches as a teenager.
Greenwood is not so far from becoming the club’s lone record scorer as he and Rooney both have 15 goals to their credit. Wood only needs to score one more goal by October 1, that is when he will turn 20.
More four minutes were added to Sunday’s meeting, that’s when Edinson Cavani scored one more goal.
