Manchester City moves ahead for PL title race defeating Liverpool

The ultra-consistent goalkeeper gave the ball away to Phil Foden with the score at one piece with 17 minutes left, who beautifully set up Ilkay Gundogan for his second goal of the day, then three minutes later he gave the ball directly to Bernardo Silva in the box and impudently scooped the ball over Raheem Sterling’s Liverpool keeper to nod home on the goal-line.

Two horrendous errors from Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker left Liverpool’s title defense hanging by a thread as Manchester City ran out 4-1 victory at Anfield.

Earlier, after Sterling had been felled in the only memorable occurrence of a drab first half, Gundogan missed a penalty kick before the German midfielder made netting improvements from close range after Alisson made a strong save from the low shot of Foden.

With a fearful strike seven minutes from time, which powered through the hands of the Brazilian stopper en route to the roof of the net, Foden put more gloss on the win.

Mo Salah put the hosts back on even terms as he scored a spot-kick after being taken down by Ruben Dias.

Liverpool is now in fourth place, 10 points behind the city leaders who have played one more game.
