Kyle Walker, defender of Manchester City and England acknowledged that earlier this year over several breaches of the coronavirus lock-down guidelines, he had taken “bad decisions”.
Those instances were discussed by Walker in a BBC Radio 5 interview on Tuesday. He stated that in his status as a public figure he wanted to be a better role model.
“I’m reflecting on my decision-making. It was a bad decision by me at the crucial time for the country,” Walker said.
“I take full responsibility for this, but now I’m moving on. Gareth Southgate and I talked after the lockdown and, you know, he told me that we were all making mistakes.”
“Obviously, it was on a larger scale and is multiplied by me being in the public eye and a role model, so I have to accept personal responsibility for what I have done.”
