According to Gary Pallister, Manchester United aspires to see Paul Pogba and Bruno Fernandes build a strong midfield combination, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer also wants another creative choice.
The former United defender told Compare.bet: “I am thinking, if Pogba or Fernandes is injured, have we got anybody else with that kind of vision? ”
“Everyone was dreaming about doing pretty good with McTominay and Fred until Paul Pogba came back to the side and before we purchased Bruno. Particularly Fred.”
“I think he’s had a rough time at Manchester United — everybody said he’s a waste of resources, seemed out of his depth, didn’t even seem like he’d fit in England.”
“But he’s still one of our most reliable players up to lockout this season and he’s turned things around. Scott McTominay is a young kid who’s done exceptionally well.”
“You know, they don’t have the vision Pogba and Fernandes had, but I hope they’re giving you a little bit of steel.”
“Scott is a Manchester United kid, he’s grown through the system, he knows the team, and I don’t worry about the midfield position too much.”
“As I said, we need somebody in case Pogba or Fernandes is hurt.”
