Man City player Pedro Porro never spoke to manager Pep

Manchester City defender Pedro Porro has revealed that he has never spoken to manager Pep Guardiola. He jokingly said Pep has no idea that the club had signed him. Porro plays on a loan for the Portuguese club Sporting CP from Manchester City

In 2019 to sign the Spaniard from Girona the Premier League club paid £11 million but immediately loaned him out to Real Vallodoid to give him first-team experience. The 21-year-old had then penned a five years contract with City, but after playing one season on loan he was loaned out again for the 2020-2021 season, this time to Sporting Lisbon.

Winning defender of the month for straight three months in November, December, and January, Porro impressed Portugal as he helped his club Sporting CP win the Primeira Liga title for the first time in 19 years.

It is stated that Sporting is keen to sign him on a permanent deal. For City, the Spaniard is yet to play a single minute of first-team football and could leave the club without making his debut.

And when asked about his future during an interview with Portuguese publication A Bola, Pedro Porro joked that Pep Guardiola has no idea who he is. “No, I’ve never talked to Pep Guardiola. I don’t think he even knows they hired me (laughs),” Porro joked. “But they must be aware of what I’ve been doing,” he added.

When pressed on where he could be playing his football next season, he continued: “I can’t say anything, what I can tell you is that next [this] week there could be something big.” Sporting reportedly has the option to sign the defender for £7.2m.
