Luis Enrique congratulated Rafael Nadal on behalf of the Spanish Football Federation

After securing his 13th French Open triumph, Rafael Nadal won glowing praise from Spanish coach Luis Enrique on Sunday.

Rafael Nadal has been labeled as “the pride of our country” by Spain’s boss Luis Enrique after his recent French Open triumph.

On Tuesday, Luis Enrique, whose side faces Ukraine in the Nations League, heaped praise on his 34-year-old countryman.

“I want to congratulate him on behalf of the [Spanish Football] Federation,” he said according to AS.

“I remember his way of facing failures and his respect for his opponents.

“He is the pride of our country. He offers us a lesson in life.”
