Zinedine Zidane, Real Madrid head coach has given his opinion after their 1-2 loss to Athletic in the Spanish Super Cup.
“In the first half it wasn’t easy for Real Madrid, we didn’t get into the game well. They converted the two chances they had. The second half was better for us. We had chances, shots on target, we scored. Athletic pressed well, we made passes, which are not usually characteristic of us,” Zidane said to Marca.
“We have to keep working, try to get a good rest and start thinking about the next game. We did our best in the second half. It is not a failure. It is not a failure because we tried.”
“We need to keep working and change the dynamic. We as a team need to change what we can affect because things will stay the same in the external environment.”
The French specialist also answered the question whether this defeat could affect the team in the future.
“No. What do you want us to end the season?”
